winstonchan: JOAKIM NOAH - KEEP BATTLINGThe first of a series of illustrations inspired by the NBA basketball team, the Chicago Bulls, and their 2012-2013 season - their struggles, their adversity; their growth and their triumphs. Though the season may have ended on the 15th May, the Bulls have shown great toughness, resilience and willpower to bring the fight to the other teams. Noah is one of my favourite NBA players - his passion, his strength and his tenacity are all qualities I respect. For me, though he may not be the star of the team, he is the core and vital to this young Chicago Bulls team. That’s why he is the first to feature in this series of illustrations. This piece was so long in the making but I’m really pleased with the final result. I love how Noah came out and the general feel of the image. Of course there are areas that could be improved, I need more practice with hands and I need to learn more about muscle structure… oh and clothing. But the biggest thing is still backgrounds. Again I’m happy with the overall outcome but the background is a it… blah. Haa.So yeah, this is my first piece in tribute to my team, the Chicago Bulls. I’ve got ideas for the next couple of illustrations in the series but I’m going to have to put it on hold for a bit; have some other things and projects I need to work on.Right, it’s going on 4:00am here… I best be getting some kip.
